Winabego Biog
Winabego combine rhythmic guitar rock with beautiful
gripping melodies to create an original sound, unique in
the Welsh scene at the moment.
Winabego wre formed in Bethesda back in 2002, and made
their live debut in the Railway Club, Bangor supporting
The Keys. Since then they've been playing regularly
throughout Wales drumming up a sizable following over the
past twelve months. They have already played support
slots for established acts such as Kentucky AFC, Texas
Radio Band and Anweledig, as well as playing headlining
slots in reputable establishments such as Clwb Ifor Bach,
Cardiff. In the coming months they will be supporting
Gruff Rhys ( Super Furry Animals) in the National
Eisteddfod and also going on tour with Topper and
Zabrinski in July.
A live session by the band was broadcast in May 2004 on
C2, Radio Cymru. In June they headed for the studio to
start work on their first E.P. `Hyder Bregus' E.P. was
released in November and was voted "Record of the week"
on Huw Stephens' radio show. The E.P. was also nominated
for the best E.P/Single Category in the RaP awards 2005.
Hyder Bregus was produced by Dyfrig Evans former frontman
of Topper. They will return to the studio over the
summer to record theior first album which will be
released at the end of 2005. They will also record a
session for Adam Walton's show on Radio Wales in the near
future.
